He has worked with various artists, including [King Crimson](/source/King_Crimson), [Simple Minds](/source/Simple_Minds), [Rick Wakeman](/source/Rick_Wakeman), [Iron Maiden](/source/Iron_Maiden), [Marillion](/source/Marillion), and [Nick Drake](/source/Nick_Drake). In 2002, Heyworth set up his own audio mastering studio, Super Audio Mastering, in Devon.

While at [prep school](/source/Preparatory_school_(United_Kingdom)), Heyworth was in a band with future [Genesis](/source/Genesis_(band)) bassist/guitarist [Mike Rutherford](/source/Mike_Rutherford). The three did various projects, such as designing Virgin Records shops in Birmingham and Oxford Street. They convinced Branson to convert some of it into a recording studio, and Heyworth worked a tape operator while learning about sound mixing and producing.<ref name=SOS86/>
