**Simon John Forrest** (born 2 August 1969) is a former [rugby league](/source/Rugby_league) and [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player who currently serves on the board of the [Crusaders](/source/Crusaders_(rugby_union)).[4][5] He is the husband of [Commonwealth Games](/source/Commonwealth_Games) medalist [Anna Simcic](/source/Anna_Simcic).[4]

## Playing career

### Rugby Union

Forrest played two seasons for [Southland](/source/Southland_(National_Provincial_Championship)) as a back. In the [1992 National Provincial Championship](/source/1992_National_Provincial_Championship) he scored 13 tries.[6] He scored 5 tries in one game against [Poverty Bay](/source/Poverty_Bay_Rugby_Football_Union).[7] He played for the [Crusaders](/source/Crusaders_(rugby_union)) in 1996,[2] and for [London Scottish F.C.](/source/London_Scottish_F.C.) from 1998 to 1999.[3]

### Rugby League

Forrest made his debut for the [South Sydney Rabbitohs](/source/South_Sydney_Rabbitohs) in the [1998 season](/source/1998_NRL_season), in their round 9 game against the [North Sydney Bears](/source/North_Sydney_Bears).[8]

## Post-playing career

Forrest served as co-coach of the New Zealand universities rugby union squad from 2014 to 2019.[9]
