**Simon Augustin Falette** (born 19 February 1992) is a professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [centre back](/source/Defender_(association_football)#Centre-back) for Saudi club [Al-Batin](/source/Al_Batin_FC).[2] Born in France, he plays for the [Guinea national team](/source/Guinea_national_football_team).

## Club career

Falette started playing football at [Tours](/source/FC_Tours) before moving to the youth teams of [Lorient](/source/FC_Lorient) in 2007.[3] On 18 February 2012, he made his [Ligue 1](/source/Ligue_1) debut for the first team of Lorient in a 0–1 loss against [Lille](/source/Lille_OSC). He spent the [2012–13 season](/source/2012%E2%80%9313_Ligue_2) on loan at [Ligue 2](/source/Ligue_2) side [Laval](/source/Stade_Lavallois). In the following season, he was again loaned out to Ligue 2, this time to [Brest](/source/Stade_Brestois_29). Brest made the transfer permanent in the summer of 2014. Falette moved to first division team [Metz](/source/FC_Metz) prior to the [2016–17 season](/source/2016%E2%80%9317_Ligue_2), where he was a regular starter and made 35 appearances in league matches, scoring three goals.[2]

In August 2017, Falette moved to [Bundesliga](/source/Bundesliga) club [Frankfurt](/source/Eintracht_Frankfurt) on a four-year deal.[4] He made his first appearance for his new club on the first matchday of the [2017–18 season](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_Bundesliga) in a 0–0 draw against [Freiburg](/source/SC_Freiburg). On 10 February 2018, he scored his first and only goal in the German first league in a 4–2 victory against [1. FC Köln](/source/1._FC_K%C3%B6ln).[5] On 19 May 2018, Falette won the [2017–18 DFB-Pokal](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_DFB-Pokal) with his team, but didn't play in the final.[6]

On 5 October 2020, Falette joined [Hannover 96](/source/Hannover_96).[7] He joined [Hatayspor](/source/Hatayspor) in 2021.[8]

On 27 February 2024, Falette signed a contract with Czech club [Zbrojovka Brno](/source/FC_Zbrojovka_Brno) until end of the season.[9]

On 10 September 2025, Falette joined Saudi FDL club [Al-Batin](/source/Al_Batin_FC).[10]

## International career

Falette was born in Le Mans, France, to a French Guianan father, Albert, who was also a footballer,[11] and a Guinean [Loma](/source/Loma_people) mother. He was called up to the [French Guiana national football team](/source/French_Guiana_national_football_team) in 2015.[12]

In October 2018, he was approached by the [Guinea national team](/source/Guinea_national_football_team), on the basis that his grandmother was born there.[13] He made his debut for Guinea on 18 November 2018, in an [Africa Cup of Nations qualifier](/source/2019_Africa_Cup_of_Nations_qualification_Group_H) against [Ivory Coast](/source/Ivory_Coast_national_football_team).[14] In the [2019 Africa Cup of Nations](/source/2019_Africa_Cup_of_Nations), he appeared as a starter in all four matches his team played in the tournament before dropping our after losing to [Algeria](/source/Algeria_national_football_team) in the round of 16.
