***Silence Lies*** ([French](/source/French_language): *Tromper le silence*) is a Canadian drama film, directed by [Julie Hivon](/source/Julie_Hivon) and released in 2010.[1] The film stars [Suzanne Clément](/source/Suzanne_Cl%C3%A9ment) as Viviane Langevin, a photographer who is starved for creative inspiration ever since being disowned by her brother Frédéric ([Sébastien Huberdeau](/source/S%C3%A9bastien_Huberdeau)) following a family dispute, when she meets Guillaume (Maxime Dumontier), a troubled young man who reminds her strongly of her brother.[2]

The cast also includes [Sophie Cadieux](/source/Sophie_Cadieux), [Benoît Gouin](/source/Beno%C3%AEt_Gouin), Claude Prégent and [Pascale Montpetit](/source/Pascale_Montpetit).

The film was shot in 2009, primarily in [Anjou](/source/Anjou%2C_Quebec),[2] and premiered in August 2010 at the [Montreal World Film Festival](/source/Montreal_World_Film_Festival).[1]

The film received two [Jutra Award](/source/Jutra_Award) nominations at the [13th Jutra Awards](/source/13th_Jutra_Awards) in 2011, for [Best Actress](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Actress) (Clément) and [Best Cinematography](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Cinematography) ([Claudine Sauvé](/source/Claudine_Sauv%C3%A9)).[3]
