'''Sidi Okba''' ({{langx|ar|سيدي عقبة}}) is a [commune](/source/Communes_of_Algeria) in the [Biskra Province](/source/Biskra_Province), [Algeria](/source/Algeria). It was named after the [Muslim](/source/Muslim) General [Uqba ibn Nafi](/source/Uqba_ibn_Nafi) who died there in 683 AD. The nearest big city is [Biskra](/source/Biskra) which is located 18&nbsp;km away.

Sidi Okba sits on an [oasis](/source/oasis). In 1911 it was described by [Baedeker](/source/Baedeker) as "the religious center of the Zab". Baedeker stated that the town founded by [pilgrim](/source/pilgrim)s visiting the tomb of Sidi Okba who died in a nearby town called [Thouda](/source/Tabuda).
