**Trinity Shye-Anne Brown 布朗诗蒽**, (born 2 August 2002) known professionally as **Shye**, is a [Singaporean](/source/Singaporeans) singer-songwriter.

## Biography

Shye was born and raised in Singapore to a Chinese-Singaporean mother and British father.[1] In 2018, at the age of 16, Shye won the Vans Musicians Wanted 2018 showcase with six of her original songs.[2] In 2020, Shye released her debut album, *Days to Morning Glory*.[3] This album won her the Best New Artist award at the Freshmusic Awards.[4]

In 2021, Shye participated in [Singapore's annual National Day parade](/source/Singapore_National_Day_parade) as one of the singers of its theme song, The Road Ahead.[5] She was nominated for Best Asian Creative Artist award at [12th Golden Indie Music Awards](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Golden_Indie_Music_Awards&action=edit&redlink=1) [[zh](https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%87%91%E9%9F%B3%E5%89%B5%E4%BD%9C%E7%8D%8E)].[6] In 2022, Shye won the Best New Act from Asia title at the [NME Awards 2022](/source/NME_Awards_2022).[7][1] In 2023, Shye performed at the [South by Southwest](/source/South_by_Southwest) music festival.[8][9] Shye would also participate in the Chinese televised music competition show, [Youth π Plan](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Youth_%CF%80_Plan&action=edit&redlink=1) [[zh](https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%9D%92%E5%B9%B4%CF%80%E8%AE%A1%E5%88%92)] and entered its grand finals.[3][9]
