# Shirin Taylor

**Shirin Taylor** (born 1951 as **Shirin C. Ghadiali**[1]) is an English actress, best known for playing [Jackie Ingram](/source/Jackie_Ingram) in the [television](/source/Television) [soap opera](/source/Soap_opera) *[Coronation Street](/source/Coronation_Street)* from 1990 to 1992 as well as Tina, girlfriend to [Robert Lindsay](/source/Robert_Lindsay_(actor))'s character in comedy drama *[Give Us a Break](/source/Give_Us_a_Break_(TV_series))*, and Rosa in the sitcom *[I Woke Up One Morning](/source/I_Woke_Up_One_Morning)*.

## Early life

Born to an Indian father and English mother, Taylor initially trained as a dancer at the [Royal Ballet School](/source/Royal_Ballet_School) before studying drama at [Bristol Old Vic Theatre School](/source/Bristol_Old_Vic_Theatre_School).[2]
