# Shipot Point

**Shipot Point** (Bulgarian: нос Шипот, ‘Nos Shipot’ \'nos 'shi-pot\) is the ice-free point on the northwest coast of [Robert Island](/source/Robert_Island_(South_Shetland_Islands)) in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands) projecting 630 m northwards, and together with [Osenovlag Island](/source/Osenovlag_Island) and [Svetulka Island](/source/Svetulka_Island) forming the southwest side of [Clothier Harbour](/source/Clothier_Harbour). The area was visited by early 19th century [sealers](/source/Seal_hunting).

The point is named after the settlement of [Shipot](/source/Shipot) in Northwestern Bulgaria.

## Location

Shipot Point is located at [62°21′01.6″S 59°40′13″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=62_21_01.6_S_59_40_13_W), which is 3.63 km northeast of [Fort William Point](/source/Fort_William_(Robert_Island)) and 1.36 km southwest of [Hammer Point](/source/Hammer_Point).
