**Shinichi Takagi** (高木真一, *Takagi Shin'ichi*; born 6 May 1970) is a Japanese professional racing driver.[2][3] He won the GT300 class [Super GT](/source/Super_GT) championship in [2002](/source/2002_All_Japan_Grand_Touring_Car_Championship) and [2019](/source/2019_Super_GT_Series).

## Career

Takagi won the [2019](/source/2019_Super_GT_Series) GT300 championship driving a [Honda NSX GT3 Evo](/source/Honda_NSX_(second_generation)) for [ARTA](/source/Autobacs_Racing_Team_Aguri).

Takagi made his debut in the [All-Japan GT Championship](/source/All_Japan_Grand_Touring_Car_Championship) (JGTC) in [1998](/source/1998_All_Japan_Grand_Touring_Car_Championship), driving for [INGING](/source/INGING_Motorsport) in the GT500 class. For the [1999 season](/source/1999_All_Japan_Grand_Touring_Car_Championship), he switched to the GT300 class, finishing third in the championship that year. He won his maiden title in [2002](/source/2002_All_Japan_Grand_Touring_Car_Championship) with [Autobacs Racing Team Aguri](/source/Autobacs_Racing_Team_Aguri) (ARTA), driving an [apr Racing](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Apr_Racing&action=edit&redlink=1) [[ja](https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/apr_(%E8%87%AA%E5%8B%95%E8%BB%8A%E4%BA%8B%E6%A5%AD))]-prepared [Toyota MR-S](/source/Toyota_MR2) alongside [Morio Nitta](/source/Morio_Nitta).[4] In the following years, with the series renamed as [Super GT](/source/Super_GT) in 2005, Takagi won numerous races and finished runner-up in the standings in [2004](/source/2004_All_Japan_Grand_Touring_Car_Championship), [2008](/source/2008_Super_GT_Series), [2010](/source/2010_Super_GT_Series) and [2018](/source/2018_Super_GT_Series). In [2019](/source/2019_Super_GT_Series), he won his second GT300 championship seventeen years after his first, driving the [Honda NSX GT3 Evo](/source/Honda_NSX_(second_generation)) of ARTA, with Takagi and his co-driver [Nirei Fukuzumi](/source/Nirei_Fukuzumi) finishing over ten points clear of the second place finishers.[5][6]
