**Shigeo Kitamura** (北村 茂男, *Kitamura Shigeo*) is a retired Japanese [politician](/source/Politician) of the [Liberal Democratic Party](/source/Liberal_Democratic_Party_(Japan)), who served as a member of the [House of Representatives](/source/House_of_Representatives_(Japan)) in the [Diet](/source/Diet_of_Japan) (national legislature).

## Political career

A native of [Wajima, Ishikawa](/source/Wajima,_Ishikawa) and graduate of [Meiji University](/source/Meiji_University), Kitamura was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2005 after having served in the assembly of [Ishikawa Prefecture](/source/Ishikawa_Prefecture) for seven terms since 1975.
