Together with [Novlene Williams-Mills](/source/Novlene_Williams-Mills), [Ronetta Smith](/source/Ronetta_Smith) and [Lorraine Fenton](/source/Lorraine_Fenton) she won a silver medal in 4 × 400 metres relay at the [2005 World Championships in Athletics](/source/2005_World_Championships_in_Athletics). She also competed in the individual contest, but was knocked out in the semifinal. Two years later, she won another silver medal in the 4 × 400 metres relay event at the [2007 World Championships in Athletics](/source/2007_World_Championships_in_Athletics), this time with [Shereefa Lloyd](/source/Shereefa_Lloyd), [Davita Prendergast](/source/Davita_Prendergast) and [Novlene Williams-Mills](/source/Novlene_Williams-Mills). The team set a national record in that race, finishing second to the United States in a time of 3:19.73.
At the [2008 Summer Olympics](/source/2008_Summer_Olympics) in [Beijing](/source/Beijing), China, Williams won the silver medal in the [400 metres](/source/Athletics_at_the_2008_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_400_metres) in a personal-best time of 49.39 seconds. She also won bronze in the [4 × 400 m relay](/source/Athletics_at_the_2008_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_4_%C3%97_400_metres_relay) with [Shereefa Lloyd](/source/Shereefa_Lloyd), [Rosemarie Whyte](/source/Rosemarie_Whyte) and [Novlene Williams-Mills](/source/Novlene_Williams-Mills).
