**Shathira Jakir Jessy** ([Bengali](/source/Bengali_language): সাথিরা জাকির জেসী) (born 30 November 1990) is a Bangladeshi former [cricketer](/source/Cricket) who played as a right-arm [off break](/source/Off_spin) [bowler](/source/Bowling_(cricket)).[1][2][3] She appeared in two [One Day Internationals](/source/Women's_One_Day_International) and one [Twenty20 International](/source/Women's_Twenty20_International) for [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh_women's_national_cricket_team) from 2011 to 2013. She played domestic cricket for Rangpur Division.[4][5]

She is Bangladesh's first international woman umpire.[6]

## Career

### ODI career

Jakir made her ODI debut against [Ireland](/source/Ireland_women's_cricket_team) on 26 November 2011.

### T20I career

Jakir made her T20I debut against [South Africa](/source/South_Africa_women's_national_cricket_team) on 15 September 2013.

### Asian games

Jakir was a member of the team that won a silver medal in the [women's cricket tournament](/source/Cricket_at_the_2010_Asian_Games_%E2%80%93_Women) at the [2010 Asian Games](/source/2010_Asian_Games) in [Guangzhou](/source/Guangzhou), [China](/source/China).[7][8]

### Umpiring career

She was the first woman umpire from Bangladesh to be empanelled in the [International Panel of ICC Umpires](/source/International_Panel_of_ICC_Umpires). She has officiated matches in [2025 Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup qualifiers](/source/2025_Under-19_Women's_T20_World_Cup_qualification#Asia).[9] In August 2025, she became the first Bangladeshi woman umpire to be appointed as a match official in Men's cricket, being appointed [Fourth umpire](/source/Fourth_umpire) for the first and the third T20I and [Third umpire](/source/Third_umpire) for the second T20I to be played between [Bangladesh and Netherlands in August-September, 2025](/source/Dutch_cricket_team_in_Bangladesh_in_2025).[10][11][12]

In September 2025, she was named one of the fourteen all-women match officials for the [2025 Women's Cricket World Cup](/source/2025_Women's_Cricket_World_Cup).[13][14]
