Hunter played college ball for [Nova Southeastern](/source/Nova_Southeastern_Sharks_men's_basketball). In his last season Hunter averaged 15.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. Hunter was named Sunshine State All-First Team, Sunshine State All-Defensive Team, Sunshine State Conference All-Tournament Team and Sunshine State Conference Tournament MVP.
