**Sewda Assembly constituency** (formerly, **Seondha**) is one of the 230 [Vidhan Sabha](/source/Madhya_Pradesh_Vidhan_Sabha) (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh) state in central [India](/source/India).[1] This constituency came into existence in 1951, as one of the 48 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the erstwhile [Vindhya Pradesh](/source/Vindhya_Pradesh) state.[2] It was reserved for the candidates belonging to the [Scheduled castes](/source/Dalit) till 2008.

Sewda (constituency number 20) is one of the 3 Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in [Datia district](/source/Datia_district). This constituency covers the entire Sewda [tehsil](/source/Tehsil) of the district.[3]

Sewda is part of [Bhind Lok Sabha constituency](/source/Bhind_(Lok_Sabha_constituency)) along with seven other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely, [Bhander](/source/Bhander_Assembly_constituency) and [Datia](/source/Datia_Assembly_constituency) in this district and [Bhind](/source/Bhind_Assembly_constituency), [Ater](/source/Ater_Assembly_constituency), [Lahar](/source/Lahar_Assembly_constituency), [Mehgaon](/source/Mehgaon_Assembly_constituency) and [Gohad](/source/Gohad_Assembly_constituency) in [Bhind district](/source/Bhind_district).[3]
