# Sevsky District

**Sevsky District** (Russian: Се́вский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district ([raion](/source/Raion)), one of the [twenty-seven](/source/Administrative_divisions_of_Bryansk_Oblast) in [Bryansk Oblast](/source/Bryansk_Oblast), [Russia](/source/Russia). It is located in the southeast of the [oblast](/source/Oblast). The area of the district is 1,220 square kilometers (470 sq mi).[3] Its [administrative center](/source/Administrative_center) is the [town](/source/Types_of_inhabited_localities_in_Russia) of [Sevsk](/source/Sevsk,_Bryansk_Oblast).[1] Population: 18,759 ([2002 Census](/source/Russian_Census_(2002)));[4] The population of Sevsk accounts for 47.5% of the district's total population.[5]
