**Serbia 21** ([Serbian Cyrillic](/source/Serbian_Cyrillic_alphabet): Србија 21, [romanized](/source/Romanization_of_Serbian): *Srbija 21*, abbr. **S21**) was a [political organisation](/source/Political_organisation) in [Serbia](/source/Serbia). It was founded in early 2020 by former members of the [Social Democratic Party](/source/Social_Democratic_Party_(Serbia)) (SDS) and [Democratic Party](/source/Democratic_Party_(Serbia)) (DS).

## History

[Marko Đurišić](/source/Marko_%C4%90uri%C5%A1i%C4%87_(politician)) and [Nenad Konstantinović](/source/Nenad_Konstantinovi%C4%87) were previously a part of the [Social Democratic Party](/source/Social_Democratic_Party_(Serbia)) (SDS) but after the party stated that they will [boycott](/source/Election_boycott) the [upcoming elections](/source/2020_Serbian_parliamentary_election) they decided to create a new political organisation which will participate in the next elections and which will also focus on the [Serbian accession to the European Union](/source/Accession_of_Serbia_to_the_European_Union).[1] After some time they were also supported by [Gordana Čomić](/source/Gordana_%C4%8Comi%C4%87) of the [Democratic Party](/source/Democratic_Party_(Serbia)) (DS).[2] The party participated in the [2020 parliamentary election](/source/2020_Serbian_parliamentary_election), and they stated multiple times that "it is only possible to change the system and to remove [Vučić](/source/Aleksandar_Vu%C4%8Di%C4%87) from power if we participate in the elections".[3] [Boris Tadić](/source/Boris_Tadi%C4%87), the president of the Social Democratic Party, has classified the organisation as "Vučić's project".[4] By the time of the election, the organisation had two [MPs](/source/MPs_(members_of_parliament)) and a joint parliamentary group with Vojvodina Front.[5]

They were also a part of the [United Democratic Serbia](/source/United_Democratic_Serbia) (UDS) coalition, together with [Party of Modern Serbia](/source/Party_of_Modern_Serbia) (SMS), [League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina](/source/League_of_Social_Democrats_of_Vojvodina) (LSV)-led Vojvodina Front and the [Civic Democratic Forum](/source/Civic_Democratic_Forum) (GDF).[6][7] The organisation has remained inactive since the 2020 parliamentary election.
