{{Short description|Digital signal processor}}
A '''sensor hub''' is a [microcontroller unit](/source/microcontroller_unit)/[coprocessor](/source/coprocessor)/[DSP](/source/digital_signal_processor) set that helps to integrate data from different sensors and process them.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.mobilitytechzone.com/topics/4g-wirelessevolution/articles/2013/05/13/337815-atmel-sensor-hub-mcu-helps-enhance-samsung-galaxy.htm |title=Atmel Sensor Hub MCU Helps Enhance Samsung Galaxy S4 User Experience, Battery Life |publisher=Mobilitytechzone.com |date=2013-05-13 |accessdate=2013-09-29}}</ref> This technology can help off-load these jobs from a product's main [central processing unit](/source/central_processing_unit), thus saving battery consumption<ref>{{cite web|url=http://news.mydrivers.com/1/275/275848.htm |title=iPhone 5S懂你"芯"：M7协处理器浅析-iPhone 5S, M7,协处理器,浅析-驱动之家 |publisher=News.mydrivers.com |date= |accessdate=2013-09-29}}</ref> and providing a performance improvement.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.atmel.com/products/touchsolutions/sensor_hub/default.aspx |title=Sensor Hub |publisher=Atmel.com |date= |accessdate=2013-09-29}}</ref>

Intel has the Intel Integrated Sensor Hub. Starting from [Cherrytrail](/source/Silvermont) and [Haswell](/source/Haswell_(microarchitecture)), many Intel processors offers on package sensor hub. The [Samsung Galaxy Note II](/source/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_II) is the first smart phone with a sensor hub, which was launched in 2012.

==Examples==
Some devices with [Snapdragon](/source/Snapdragon_(System_on_Chip)) 800 series chips, including [HTC One (M8)](/source/HTC_One_(M8)), [Sony Xperia Z1](/source/Sony_Xperia_Z1), [LG G2](/source/LG_G2), etc., have a sensor hub, the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sensor Core,<ref>{{Cite web|url = http://www.qualcomm.com/snapdragon/features/sensors|title = <nowiki>Snapdragon Sensor Core | Qualcomm</nowiki>|date = 2013|accessdate = 16 July 2014|website = |publisher = |last = |first = }}
</ref> and all [HiSilicon](/source/HiSilicon) Kirin 920 devices have sensor hub embedded in the chipset with its successor Kirin 925 integrated an i3 chip with same function into it.<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.usdaycarejobs.com/huaweis-new-phablet-gets-an-iphone-5s-like-fingerprint-reader.html |title=Huawei's new phablet gets an iPhone 5s-like fingerprint reader | US Day Care Jobs |access-date=2014-09-04 |archive-date=2014-09-04 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140904194419/http://www.usdaycarejobs.com/huaweis-new-phablet-gets-an-iphone-5s-like-fingerprint-reader.html |url-status=dead }}</ref> Some other devices that are not using these chips but with a sensor hub integrated are listed below:
