**Sensitive Prince** (April 1, 1975 – January 24, 1991) was an American [Thoroughbred](/source/Thoroughbred) [racehorse](/source/Horse_racing). Out of the mare Sensitive Lady, he was sired by [U.S. Racing Hall of Fame](/source/National_Museum_of_Racing_and_Hall_of_Fame) inductee, [Majestic Prince](/source/Majestic_Prince).

Sensitive Price had the misfortune of being born in the same year as two future Hall of Fame horses, that year's [U.S. Triple Crown](/source/Triple_Crown_of_Thoroughbred_Racing#United_States_Triple_Crowns) champion [Affirmed](/source/Affirmed) and his prime challenger, [Alydar](/source/Alydar).

As a three-year-old, Sensitive Prince won [Kentucky Derby](/source/Kentucky_Derby) prep races in [Florida](/source/Florida) and at [Keeneland Race Course](/source/Keeneland_Race_Course). In the [1978 Kentucky Derby](/source/1978_Kentucky_Derby), which he entered undefeated under jockey [Mickey Solomone](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mickey_Solomone&action=edit&redlink=1), he took the lead early and held it until the field turned for home before fading to finish sixth. Later that year, he finished second in record time to Affirmed in the [Jim Dandy Stakes](/source/Jim_Dandy_Stakes) at [Saratoga Race Course](/source/Saratoga_Race_Course) but won three important races including the [Jerome Handicap](/source/Jerome_Handicap) at [Belmont Park](/source/Belmont_Park).

Racing at age four, Sensitive Prince got his first important win of 1979 in the [Gulfstream Park Handicap](/source/Gulfstream_Park_Handicap), then added two handicap wins before being retired to [stud](/source/Stud_(animal)) at the end of the racing season, having set three track records during his career.

As a sire, Sensitive Prince stood for a time at Wimbledon Farm in [Lexington, Kentucky](/source/Lexington%2C_Kentucky). He met with modest success, siring six stakes winners.
