# Sei Young Animation

**Sei Young Animation Co., Ltd.** () was an animation studio based in South Korea, known best for working overseas for North America animated TV shows, such as *[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!](/source/The_Super_Mario_Bros._Super_Show!)*, [*The Legend of Zelda*](/source/The_Legend_of_Zelda_(TV_Series)), and *[The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3](/source/The_Adventures_of_Super_Mario_Bros._3)*. It also worked on Japanese productions such as *[Final Yamato](/source/Final_Yamato)*, *[Video Senshi Laserion](/source/Video_Senshi_Laserion)* and *[Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water](/source/Nadia:_The_Secret_of_Blue_Water)*. They merged with [Dong Woo Animation](/source/Dong_Woo_Animation) in October 1998 due to the [1997 Asian financial crisis](/source/1997_Asian_financial_crisis). Kim Dae-jung (the founder of Sei Young Animation) died from [liver cancer](/source/Liver_cancer) on September 14, 2017.[1]
