In [sport](/source/sport), the '''Second Division''', also called '''Division 2''' or '''Division II''' is usually the second highest division of a league, and will often have [promotion and relegation](/source/promotion_and_relegation) with divisions above and below. Following the rise of [Premier League](/source/Premier_League) style competitions, many leagues known as the Second Division have fallen to a lower tier in countries' football [league system](/source/league_system).
