==Career==
Gauthier was drafted by the [Winnipeg Jets](/source/Winnipeg_Jets_(1972%E2%80%931996)) in [1991](/source/1991_NHL_Entry_Draft). He appeared in one game in the [National Hockey League](/source/National_Hockey_League) for the [San Jose Sharks](/source/San_Jose_Sharks) in the [1998–99 season](/source/1998%E2%80%9399_NHL_season), against the [Chicago Blackhawks](/source/Chicago_Blackhawks). The rest of his career, which lasted from 1991 to 2005, was spent in various minor leagues.

==Personal life==
Gauthier lives in [Scottsdale, Arizona](/source/Scottsdale%2C_Arizona) with his wife and three children. One of his sons, [Cutter Gauthier](/source/Cutter_Gauthier), (born in [Skellefteå, Sweden](/source/Skellefte%C3%A5)) was selected 5th overall by the [Philadelphia Flyers](/source/Philadelphia_Flyers) in the [2022 NHL entry draft](/source/2022_NHL_entry_draft), and his NHL rights were traded to the [Anaheim Ducks](/source/Anaheim_Ducks) immediately following the [2024  World Junior Ice Hockey Championships](/source/2024_World_Junior_Ice_Hockey_Championships), where Cutter excelled for the gold medal-winning [Team USA](/source/United_States_men's_national_junior_ice_hockey_team).
