**Sean Fletcher** (born 20 April 1974)[2] is an American-English[3] journalist, and television presenter best known as a presenter on *[Good Morning Britain](/source/Good_Morning_Britain_(2014_TV_programme))* and on *[Countryfile](/source/Countryfile)*.

Fletcher has also presented the [ITV](/source/ITV_(TV_network)) daytime game show *[Rebound](/source/Rebound_(game_show))* (2015–2016) and the [BBC](/source/BBC_One) Sunday morning talk show *[Sunday Morning Live](/source/Sunday_Morning_Live_(British_TV_programme))* (2017–present).

## Early life and education

Born in [New York City](/source/New_York_City) to a [Zimbabwean](/source/Zimbabwe)-born mother and [English](/source/English_people) father, he was brought up in [Essex](/source/Essex).[4]

Fletcher was educated at [Felsted School](/source/Felsted_School), an [independent school](/source/Independent_school) in the village of [Felsted](/source/Felsted) (near [Great Dunmow](/source/Great_Dunmow)) in Essex,[5] followed by [King's College London](/source/King's_College_London), where he obtained a degree in [Geography](/source/Geography).

## Career

After training as a music producer, Fletcher began his journalism career in [Cardiff](/source/Cardiff), producing packages for [BBC Radio Wales](/source/BBC_Radio_Wales). He then moved to [London](/source/London) to work behind the scenes at [BBC Radio 5 Live](/source/BBC_Radio_5_Live). Several years later he began working on [BBC 2W](/source/BBC_2W), the digital TV channel for Wales. He also presented and reported on sport for [BBC Wales Today](/source/BBC_Wales_Today).

From 2005 until 2011, Fletcher presented sports bulletins on the rolling news channel [BBC News](/source/BBC_News_(British_TV_channel)), and has also presented sport on the *[BBC Weekend News](/source/BBC_Weekend_News)* and *[BBC Breakfast](/source/BBC_Breakfast)* on [BBC One](/source/BBC_One) as well as [BBC World News](/source/BBC_World_News). In March 2010, Fletcher began reporting on news stories for *BBC Breakfast*.

In October 2011, Fletcher left the [BBC](/source/BBC) to join [Sky Sports News](/source/Sky_Sports_News), where he worked until his departure in early 2014.

On 3 March 2014, it was announced Fletcher would become a sports newsreader on the new [ITV Breakfast](/source/ITV_Breakfast) programme *[Good Morning Britain](/source/Good_Morning_Britain_(2014_TV_programme))*.[6] He first appeared on the programme on its opening day, 28 April 2014. He is now a regular news presenter on the programme.

In 2015, Fletcher presented *[Rebound](/source/Rebound_(game_show))*, a ten-part daytime game show for [ITV](/source/ITV_(TV_network)), airing in the 5 pm slot.[7] A second series of the show was produced and aired in 2016.[8] In September 2015, he appeared in an episode of *[All Star Mr & Mrs](/source/All_Star_Mr_%26_Mrs)* alongside his wife Luned.

Since October 2015, Fletcher has been an occasional reporter for *[Countryfile](/source/Countryfile)* on [BBC One](/source/BBC_One).

Fletcher co-presented the [BBC Two](/source/BBC_Two) series *Food Detectives* alongside [Tom Kerridge](/source/Tom_Kerridge) and [Alice Roberts](/source/Alice_Roberts) in 2016.[9] Since 2017, he has presented the Sunday morning [BBC One](/source/BBC_One) programme *[Sunday Morning Live](/source/Sunday_Morning_Live_(British_TV_programme))* initially alongside [Emma Barnett](/source/Emma_Barnett).[10] He has also been an occasional co-presenter of the [BBC One](/source/BBC_One) Sunday programme *[Songs of Praise](/source/Songs_of_Praise)*.

In September 2017, Fletcher replaced [Matthew Wright](/source/Matthew_Wright_(television_presenter)) as presenter of BBC's current affairs programme *[Inside Out London](/source/Inside_Out_(2002_TV_programme))*. In October 2017, he co-presented *[Britain's Classroom Heroes](/source/Britain's_Classroom_Heroes)* with [Naga Munchetty](/source/Naga_Munchetty) on [BBC Two](/source/BBC_Two).

## Personal life

Fletcher speaks Welsh fluently,[11] and he married Luned Tonderai, a Welsh television producer and director, on 30 March 1999.[12][13] The couple have a daughter and son.[14][15] Fletcher lives in [Acton, London](/source/Acton%2C_London).[16] He is a [Christian](/source/Christian),[17] and supports [Tottenham Hotspur F.C.](/source/Tottenham_Hotspur_F.C.)

### Charity

In September 2015, Sean became an ambassador for the Beating Bowel Cancer charity.[18] He ran the [2015](/source/2015_London_Marathon) and [2016 London Marathon](/source/2016_London_Marathon) to raise money for the charity.[19] In 2017, Fletcher ran the [London Marathon](/source/London_Marathon) for mental health charities Heads Together and Young Minds UK. In 2018 he ran his fourth London Marathon for Young Minds UK, for whom he is an ambassador. He is a trustee of Orchard, a charity that funds research into new treatments for [Obsessive Compulsive Disorder](/source/Obsessive_Compulsive_Disorder) (OCD), and he regularly hosts [webinars](/source/Webinar) with leading figures in OCD treatment.

In 2016, he played for the 'Rest of the World' team on ITV's celebrity football match *[Soccer Aid](/source/Soccer_Aid)*, which supports [UNICEF UK](/source/UNICEF_UK).
