# Scott Smith (runner)

**Scott Smith** (born July 13, 1986) is an American [long-distance runner](/source/Long-distance_runner) who specialized in the [marathon](/source/Marathon).[3] He competed in the [marathon event](/source/2015_World_Championships_in_Athletics_%E2%80%93_Men's_marathon) at the [2015 World Championships in Athletics](/source/2015_World_Championships_in_Athletics) in Beijing, China.[4] For his collegiate career, Smith attended University of California, Santa Barbara.[5]
