==Career==
Elstone made his debut for the [Nottinghamshire](/source/Nottinghamshire_County_Cricket_Club) 1st XI in the [Clydesdale Bank 40](/source/Clydesdale_Bank_40) game against [Scotland](/source/Scotland_national_cricket_team). During the [Indian cricket team in England in 2011](/source/Indian_cricket_team_in_England_in_2011) tour, Elstone was used as a substitute fielder while first [Graeme Swann](/source/Graeme_Swann) and later [Jonathan Trott](/source/Jonathan_Trott) were injured and unable to field during the second Power Test Match at [Trent Bridge](/source/Trent_Bridge). On 1 August 2011, he took catches off the bowling of [Tim Bresnan](/source/Tim_Bresnan) to dismiss [Suresh Raina](/source/Suresh_Raina) and [Harbhajan Singh](/source/Harbhajan_Singh). In doing so, Elstone became the second youngest substitute fielder to take a catch during a match involving England played in England after Hampshire player [Adam Rouse](/source/Adam_Rouse) (aged 19) took a catch to remove [Kumar Sangakkara](/source/Kumar_Sangakkara) off the bowling of [Jimmy Anderson](/source/James_Anderson_(cricketer)) in the preceding England v Sri Lanka Test series at [The Rose Bowl](/source/Rose_Bowl_(cricket_ground)). He was also used as twelfth man in the second Test Match against the [West Indies](/source/West_Indies_national_cricket_team) at Trent Bridge in May 2012, bringing the drinks onto the field several times as well as being substitute fielder occasionally. Though this time he took no catches.

On 5 May 2013, Elstone made his debut for the [Unicorns](/source/Unicorns_(cricket_team)) in the [Yorkshire Bank 40](/source/ECB_40) and top scored with 75* in a losing cause. His highest score to date. On 12 May 2014, four years after making his [List A](/source/List_A) debut, Elstone finally made his [first-class](/source/first-class_cricket) debut for [Derbyshire](/source/Derbyshire_County_Cricket_Club) against [Kent](/source/Kent_County_Cricket_Club), batting at number five before making his first half century in the very next match against [Gloucestershire](/source/Gloucestershire_County_Cricket_Club). Elstone's Derbyshire contract was cancelled by mutual consent in July 2016.<ref>{{cite news|title=Derbyshire release Andy Carter, Tom Knight and Scott Elstone|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/36878068|accessdate=27 July 2016|work=BBC Sport|date=24 July 2016}}</ref>
