'''''Scotland Yet''''' is a 2014 [documentary film](/source/documentary_film) directed by Scottish filmmaker and journalist [Jack Foster](/source/Jack_Foster_(film_maker)), and produced by [Christopher Silver](/source/Christopher_Silver). The film focuses on the more obscure [grassroots](/source/grassroots) elements of the Scottish independence campaign, concentrated primarily on those arguing for a Yes vote in the 2014 referendum; the film's [tagline](/source/tagline) is “a film about independence.”

The title of the film alludes to a song by the late Scottish folk singer and songwriter [Davy Steele](/source/Davy_Steele), called ‘Scotland Yet’, written at the time of the [1997 Scottish devolution referendum](/source/1997_Scottish_devolution_referendum). Various interpretations of the song feature in the film's soundtrack, created by traditional musicians [Rona Wilkie](/source/Rona_Wilkie) and [Marit Fält](/source/Marit_F%C3%A4lt).<ref>{{Cite web | title=Excellent Online Resource | url=http://scotlandyet.com | access-date=2025-01-11 | website=scotlandyet.com}}</ref>

''Scotland Yet'' is, to date, the only feature film to have covered the [2014 Scottish independence referendum](/source/2014_Scottish_independence_referendum).

==Synopsis==

The film concentrates primarily on the [left-wing](/source/Left-wing_politics) arguments for [Scottish independence](/source/Scottish_independence), as seen through the eyes of political activists such as [Tariq Ali](/source/Tariq_Ali) and [Robin McAlpine](/source/Robin_McAlpine); also journalists such as [Ian Bell (journalist)](/source/Ian_Bell_(journalist)) and [Lesley Riddoch](/source/Lesley_Riddoch). The film sets out to document the smaller, less publicised elements of the 2014 pro independence campaign, such as [National Collective](/source/National_Collective), [Radical Independence](/source/Radical_Independence) and [Common Weal](/source/Common_Weal). The documentary combines this with a commentary on the historical context of the independence movement, and the controversies surrounding perceived media bias during the campaign.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.one-small-world.com/scotland-yet-a-film-for-an-independent-scotland-review|title = Scotland Yet, A film for an Independent Scotland – Review – One Small World}}</ref>
