**Scoraig** ([Scottish Gaelic](/source/Scottish_Gaelic_language): *Sgoraig*) is a settlement located on a remote [peninsula](/source/Peninsula) between [Little Loch Broom](/source/Little_Loch_Broom) and [Loch Broom](/source/Loch_Broom), north-west of [Ullapool](/source/Ullapool) in Ross and Cromarty, Highland, [Scotland](/source/Scotland).

The [1871 census](/source/United_Kingdom_census%2C_1871) recorded more than 380 [Gaelic](/source/Scottish_Gaelic)-speaking inhabitants of Scoraig. Today it is known for its remoteness (reachable only by boat or about five miles' walk),[1][2] its somewhat "alternative" atmosphere,[3] [organic food](/source/Organic_food) production, and its pioneering use of [wind power](/source/Wind_power).

There is a [primary school](/source/Primary_school), which in 2015 had five pupils,[4] and in 2018, seven.[1] Most children over the age of 14 go to Ullapool High School,[5] which because of the distance requires living there at least during the week.[1] There is postal service three times a week, and a sea-ferry and a community boat serve the settlement in addition to private boats.[1]
