In [planetary geology](/source/Planetary_geology), a **saxum** ([/ˈsæksəm/](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/English), plural **saxa**) is a large surface boulder on an extraterrestrial body.[1] So far the term has been used for:

[*Saxum*](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/saxum) is the Latin word for a rock. The feature name was introduced in 2019 for the [Hayabusa 2](/source/Hayabusa_2) asteroid mission to Ryugu.
