The '''saxion''' is the scalar superpartner of the [axion](/source/axion), and part of a [chiral superfield](/source/chiral_superfield). The axion represents the CP violating theory of the Standard Model. The axion and saxion are examples of the [scalar boson](/source/scalar_boson) class of particles with a very small mass, and a charge of 0.<ref>{{Citation |last=Moroi |first=Takeo |title=Scalar Trapping and Saxion Cosmology |date=2013-05-02 |url=http://arxiv.org/abs/1304.6597 |access-date=2026-03-03 |publisher=arXiv |doi=10.48550/arXiv.1304.6597 |id=arXiv:1304.6597 |last2=Mukaida |first2=Kyohei |last3=Nakayama |first3=Kazunori |last4=Takimoto |first4=Masahiro}}</ref>
