# Sara Thrige

**Sara Gedsted Thrige Andersen** (born 15 May 1996) is a Danish professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)) for Dutch [Eredivisie](/source/Eredivisie_(women)) club [PSV](/source/PSV_(women)) and the [Denmark national team](/source/Denmark_women's_national_football_team). With both club and country, she usually operates as a right [wing-back](/source/Defender_(association_football)).[2]

## Club career

On 23 January 2024, Thrige signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with PSV.[3] Five days later she made her debut for PSV in the 3-1 win to [ADO Den Haag](/source/ADO_Den_Haag_(women)).[4]

## International career

Thrige was called up to the [senior national team](/source/Denmark_women's_national_football_team) in October 2016 for a training tournament in China. She took over the spot of [Karoline Smidt Nielsen](/source/Karoline_Smidt_Nielsen), who suffered an injury.[5]

Thrige appeared for the team during the [UEFA Euro 2021 qualifying](/source/UEFA_Women's_Euro_2021_qualifying) cycle.[6]

Sara Thrige has a twin sister [Sofie Thrige](/source/Sofie_Thrige),[7] who as of January 2024 plays for [B.93](/source/Boldklubben_af_1893) in the second best tier of Danish women's football.
