# Sandra Watt

**Sandra Watt** (born 8 August 1973) is a former international [badminton](/source/Badminton) player from Scotland who competed at two [Commonwealth Games](/source/Commonwealth_Games) and won two bronze medals.

## Biography

Watt born in 1973[1] was from [Innerleithen](/source/Innerleithen)[2] and based in Edinburgh.[3] She represented Scotland at international level.[4]

Watt represented the [Scottish team](/source/Scotland_at_the_1998_Commonwealth_Games)[5] at the [1998 Commonwealth Games](/source/1998_Commonwealth_Games) in [Kuala Lumpur](/source/Kuala_Lumpur), Malaysia, where she competed in the [badminton events](/source/Badminton_at_the_1998_Commonwealth_Games).[1] Partnering [Elinor Middlemiss](/source/Elinor_Middlemiss), she won a bronze medal in the women's doubles.[6]

She broke her wrist during the 1998 Games and did not return until January 1999.[7] Later, she partnered with [Kirsteen McEwan](/source/Kirsteen_McEwan) and then [Yuan Wemyss](/source/Yuan_Wemyss) in the women's doubles.[8]

Watt represented the [Scottish team](/source/Scotland_at_the_2002_Commonwealth_Games) again [9] at the [2002 Commonwealth Games](/source/2002_Commonwealth_Games) in Manchester, England, where she competed in the [badminton events](/source/Badminton_at_the_2002_Commonwealth_Games),[10] winning a bronze medal as part of the mixed team.[6]

She was a six-times doubles champion at the [Scottish National Badminton Championships](/source/Scottish_National_Badminton_Championships).[11][12]
