Canadian pianist, vocal coach, and choral conductor

**Sandra Horst** is a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) [pianist](/source/Pianist), [vocal coach](/source/Vocal_coach), and [choral conductor](/source/Choral_conductor). She is the chorus master at the [Canadian Opera Company](/source/Canadian_Opera_Company). She was profiled in the July 2009 issue of *[Opera News](/source/Opera_News)*.[1] She graduated with honors from [Wilfrid Laurier University](/source/Wilfrid_Laurier_University) with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. She later earned a Masters of Music in Accompaniment from [New England Conservatory](/source/New_England_Conservatory) and earned a diploma in accompaniment from the professional studies program at the [Juilliard School](/source/Juilliard_School). She is a tenured music professor at the [University of Toronto](/source/University_of_Toronto). She has previously served on the staffs of the [Banff Centre for the Arts](/source/Banff_Centre_for_the_Arts), the [Boston Lyric Opera](/source/Boston_Lyric_Opera), the [Chautauqua Institute](/source/Chautauqua_Institute), [Juilliard Opera Center](/source/Juilliard_Opera_Center), Opera Hamilton, Opera Saskatchewan,[2] and the [Opera Theatre of Saint Louis](/source/Opera_Theatre_of_Saint_Louis).
