'''Samuel Rodgers''' (1894 – June 1970) was a [unionist](/source/unionist_(Ireland)) [politician](/source/politician) in [Northern Ireland](/source/Northern_Ireland).

Rodgers qualified as a medical doctor at [Queen's University Belfast](/source/Queen's_University_Belfast) in 1926. During [World War II](/source/World_War_II), he served with the [Royal Army Medical Corps](/source/Royal_Army_Medical_Corps). He joined the [Ulster Unionist Party](/source/Ulster_Unionist_Party), and stood unsuccessfully for them in [Belfast Pottinger](/source/Belfast_Pottinger_(Northern_Ireland_Parliament_constituency)) at the [1945 Northern Ireland general election](/source/1945_Northern_Ireland_general_election). Rodgers held his seat in [1953](/source/1953_Northern_Ireland_general_election), and chaired the Unionist backbenchers' committee from 1956 until 1958, when he lost his seat. He stood for [Queen's University Belfast](/source/Queen's_University_Belfast_(Northern_Ireland_Parliament_constituency)) in a 1961 by-election, but was again unsuccessful. He was elected to the [Senate of Northern Ireland](/source/Senate_of_Northern_Ireland) the following year, serving until his death.<ref name="biog" />
