# Samu Delgado

**Samuel Delgado Serna** (born 2 July 1993), known as **Samu Delgado** or simply **Samu**, is a Spanish former [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [right winger](/source/Midfielder#Winger).

## Club career

Born in [Belmonte, Cuenca](/source/Belmonte,_Cuenca), [Castilla-La Mancha](/source/Castilla-La_Mancha),[1] Samu graduated from [Albacete Balompié](/source/Albacete_Balompi%C3%A9)'s youth setup, and made senior debuts with [the reserves](/source/Albacete_Balompi%C3%A9_B) in the 2011–12 campaign, in [Tercera División](/source/Tercera_Divisi%C3%B3n). In the [following season](/source/2012%E2%80%9313_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B) he began appearing with the main squad in [Segunda División B](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B).

Samu was definitely promoted to the first team in July 2013,[2] and appeared in 31 matches as *Alba* returned to [Segunda División](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n) after a three-year absence. On 24 August 2014 he played his first match as a professional, [replacing](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) [Portu](/source/Portu) in a 2–3 home loss against [AD Alcorcón](/source/AD_Alcorc%C3%B3n).[3]

Samu scored his first professional goal on 30 November, netting the last in a 2–1 away win against [FC Barcelona B](/source/FC_Barcelona_B).[4] On 11 July 2016, after [suffering relegation](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n), he was loaned to fellow league team [AD Alcorcón](/source/AD_Alcorc%C3%B3n) for one year.[5]

Samu joined the *Alfareros* permanently on 31 January 2017, and was immediately loaned to [Cultural Leonesa](/source/Cultural_y_Deportiva_Leonesa) in the third division.[6]
