# Sam Bedlow

**Samuel Bedlow** (born 8 August 1995 in [Bury](/source/Bury,_Greater_Manchester), [England](/source/England)) is a [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player who most recently played for the [Bristol Bears](/source/Bristol_Bears). His regular position is [centre](/source/Centre_(rugby_union)).[1][2]

## Career

### Early life

At youth level, Bedlow represented [Sale Sharks](/source/Sale_Sharks) at Under-18, Under-19 and A level and also played for [National League 3 North](/source/National_League_3_North) side [Rossendale](/source/Rossendale_RUFC).

### Sale Sharks

Bedlow signed a professional contract with [Sale Sharks](/source/Sale_Sharks) prior to the 2013–2014 season,[3] where he mostly played for their academy side, the [Sale Jets](/source/Sale_Sharks#Academy_squad).

He didn't make any appearances for them during the 2013–2014 season, but he did join [National League 2 North](/source/National_League_2_North) side [Preston Grasshoppers](/source/Preston_Grasshoppers_R.F.C.) where he made four appearances.[4]

During the [2014–15 season](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_National_League_1), Bedlow joined [National League 1](/source/National_League_1) side [Fylde](/source/Fylde_Rugby_Club) on a dual registration basis[5] and made nine appearances for the side, scoring a try on his debut for Fylde in a 29–29 draw against [Darlington Mowden Park](/source/Darlington_Mowden_Park_R.F.C.).[6] He made his first class debut for Sale Sharks on 1 February 2015 in their [2014–15 LV Cup](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_LV_Cup) match against [Newcastle Falcons](/source/Newcastle_Falcons), starting in a 19–39 defeat.[7]

In July 2015, Bedlow had a spell with [South African](/source/South_Africa) side the , representing their Under-21 side in the [2015 Under-21 Provincial Championship](/source/2015_Under-21_Provincial_Championship_Group_A).[8]

### Bristol Bears

On 2 May 2017, it was confirmed that Bedlow signs for Premiership rivals [Bristol Bears](/source/Bristol_Bears) ahead of the 2017-18 season.[9] He has made 58 first-team appearances during his five seasons with the club.

### Return to Sale Sharks

On 27 February 2023, it was confirmed that Bedlow would return to his old club [Sale Sharks](/source/Sale_Sharks) on a long-term deal ahead of the 2023-24 season.[10]
