# Salt Lake Daily Herald

***The Salt Lake Daily Herald*** was a daily newspaper in [Salt Lake City, Utah](/source/Salt_Lake_City%2C_Utah). It may also be known as the ***Salt Lake Herald*** or ***Salt Lake City Herald***. It was founded in 1870 by publishers [William C. Dunbar](/source/William_C._Dunbar) and [Edward L. Sloan](/source/Edward_L._Sloan).[1]

It was at one time housed in the [Herald Building](/source/Herald_Building_(Salt_Lake_City)), when the newspaper was owned by [William A. Clark](/source/William_A._Clark), a wealthy entrepreneur and politician from Montana.

The *Salt Lake Herald* merged with the *Inter-mountain Republican* in 1909 to form the ***Salt Lake Herald Republican***.[2] The *Inter-mountain Republican* had been published from 1906-1909.[3] The *Salt Lake Herald Republican* was published until 1918.[2]
