'''Saint Giles Island''' is the largest in a group of small islands off the north-eastern tip of [Tobago](/source/Tobago), in the [Caribbean](/source/Caribbean) country of [Trinidad and Tobago](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago).

==Environment==
The island is very steep sided and hosts [tropical dry forest](/source/tropical_dry_forest) and wind-swept littoral scrub. At least five species of reptiles have been recorded for the island. One is a snake - [Boddaert's tropical racer](/source/Mastigodryas_boddaerti). The remaining four are lizards - [green iguana](/source/green_iguana)s, [turnip-tailed gecko](/source/turnip-tailed_gecko)s, [eyespot gecko](/source/eyespot_gecko)s and an unidentified species of [skink](/source/skink) in the sub-family [Mabuyinae](/source/Mabuyinae).

Saint Giles, along with adjacent rock islets, has been designated an [Important Bird Area](/source/Important_Bird_Area) (IBA) by [BirdLife International](/source/BirdLife_International) because it supports significant populations of [red-billed tropicbird](/source/red-billed_tropicbird)s, [Sargasso Shearwater](/source/Sargasso_Shearwater)s and [magnificent frigatebird](/source/magnificent_frigatebird)s, as well as [red-footed](/source/red-footed_booby), [brown](/source/brown_booby) and [masked boobies](/source/masked_booby). It is one of the most important [seabird breeding](/source/seabird_colony) islands in the southern Caribbean.<ref name=bli>{{cite web |url= https://datazone.birdlife.org/site/factsheet/st-giles-islands-iba-trinidad-and-tobago|title= St Giles Islands|author=<!--Not stated--> |date=2024|website= BirdLife Data Zone|publisher= BirdLife International|access-date= 2024-09-15}}</ref>
