Their home stadium is [Sohar Regional Sports Complex](/source/Sohar_Regional_Sports_Complex). The stadium is government owned. The club also owns its own stadium and sports equipment, as well as its own training facilities. ## History The club was founded on 24 April 1972 and registered on 26 June 2002. The club was promoted to the [Omani League](/source/Omani_League) after winning the final of [2007-08 First Division League](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2007-08_First_Division_League&action=edit&redlink=1), where the club defeated [Al-Shabab Club](/source/Al-Shabab_(Oman)) on penalties.[2] The club caused a major upset when they beat 7-time Sultan Qaboos Cup winners, [Dhofar](/source/Dhofar_(football_club)) in 2009, receiving their first ever [Sultan Qaboos Cup](/source/Sultan_Qaboos_Cup) title. Their most recent achievement was in 2013 when they won the first OPL Cup against [Al-Seeb Club](/source/Seeb_(football_club)) 3–2 on penalties after the match had ended 0–0 in normal time.[3] ## Multisport club Saham SC also [hockey](/source/Field_hockey), [volleyball](/source/Volleyball), [handball](/source/Team_handball), [basketball](/source/Basketball), [badminton](/source/Badminton) and [squash](/source/Squash_(sport)). They also have a youth team competing in the Omani Youth League. ## Crest and colours Saham SC have been known since establishment to wear a full [blue](/source/Blue) or [white](/source/White) (Away) [kit](/source/Kit_(association_football)) (usually a darker shade of blue). They have also had many different sponsors over the years.
