**Sabellida** is an [order](/source/Order_(biology)) of [annelid](/source/Annelid) worms formerly in the class [Polychaeta](/source/Polychaeta). They are [filter feeders](/source/Filter_feeder) with no [buccal organ](/source/Mouth). The [prostomium](/source/Prostomium) is fused with the [peristomium](/source/Peristomium) and bears a ring of feathery feeding tentacles. They live in parchment-like tubes made of particles from their environment such as sand and shell fragments cemented together with mucus.[4]

Members of the suborder include the [feather duster worms](/source/Feather_duster_worm) (Sabellidae) and [serpulid worms](/source/Serpulidae) (Serpulidae). Among the species are the giant feather duster worm (*[Eudistylia polymorpha](/source/Eudistylia_polymorpha)*), the peacock worm (*[Sabella pavonina](/source/Sabella_pavonina)*), the European fan worm (*[Sabella spallanzanii](/source/Sabella_spallanzanii)*) and the Christmas tree worm (*[Spirobranchus giganteus](/source/Spirobranchus_giganteus)*). The inclusion of [Oweniidae](/source/Oweniidae) and [Siboglinidae](/source/Siboglinidae) is not supported by some authorities.[5][*[clarification needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Please_clarify)*]
