**Sociedad Deportiva Indautxu** is a [Spanish football club](/source/List_of_football_clubs_in_Spain) based in [Bilbao](/source/Bilbao), in the autonomous community of [Basque Country](/source/Basque_Country_(autonomous_community)). Founded in 1924, it plays in [División de Honor](/source/Divisi%C3%B3n_de_Honor_de_Vizcaya), holding home games at *Campo Iparralde*.

Apart from [football](/source/Association_football), the club also promotes other sports such as [boxing](/source/Boxing) and [swimming](/source/Swimming_(sport)).

## History

Indautxu was founded in 1924, was disbanded in 1929, and then reformed in 1940, also being referred to as *Sociedad Deportiva Indauchu*.

In [1955–56](/source/1955%E2%80%9356_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n)'s [second division](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n), with former [Athletic Bilbao](/source/Athletic_Bilbao) players [Telmo Zarra](/source/Telmo_Zarra) and [José Luis Panizo](/source/Jos%C3%A9_Luis_Panizo) in the squad, and with another, [Rafael Iriondo](/source/Rafael_Iriondo), as coach, the team made its debuts in the [Spanish second division](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n), finishing third in [1956–57](/source/1956%E2%80%9357_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n) and [1958–59](/source/1958%E2%80%9359_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n), and fourth in [1957–58](/source/1957%E2%80%9358_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n).

Indautxu maintained its division status until the *Segunda Division* status until the [1966–67 season](/source/1966%E2%80%9367_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n), returning for the last time in [1968–69](/source/1968%E2%80%9369_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n), and meeting the same fate.
