**Ryotaro Tsunoda** (角田 涼太朗, *Tsunoda Ryotaro*; born 27 June 1999) is a Japanese professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [centre-back](/source/Centre-back) or a [left-back](/source/Left-back) for [Yokohama F. Marinos](/source/Yokohama_F._Marinos).

## Club career

On 23 January 2024, Tsunoda signed for [Championship](/source/EFL_Championship) club [Cardiff City](/source/Cardiff_City_F.C.). Upon his arrival at the club, he immediately joined [Belgian Pro League](/source/Belgian_Pro_League) club [KV Kortrijk](/source/K.V._Kortrijk) on loan for the remainder of the season.[1] On 16 March, Tsunoda suffered a hamstring injury in match against [Anderlecht](/source/R.S.C._Anderlecht) and missed the remainder of the season.[2]

On 6 January 2025, Tsunoda returned to [Kortrijk](/source/K.V._Kortrijk) on a new loan.[3]

## International career

In March 2023, Tsunoda was called up to the [Japan national team](/source/Japan_national_football_team) for the first time by manager [Hajime Moriyasu](/source/Hajime_Moriyasu) to play in the 2023 [Kirin Challenge Cup](/source/Kirin_Cup_Soccer).[4]
