# Rymer Point

**Rymer Point** is a [cape](/source/Peninsula) in the [Canadian Arctic](/source/Northern_Canada) territory of [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut). It is located on southwestern [Victoria Island](/source/Victoria_Island)'s [Wollaston Peninsula](/source/Wollaston_Peninsula), facing the [Dolphin and Union Strait](/source/Dolphin_and_Union_Strait). [Clouston Bay](/source/Clouston_Bay) ([69°03′N 113°33′W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=69_03_N_113_33_W&title=Clouston%20Bay)) is situated along the north shoreline. [Nuvuk Point](/source/Nuvuk_Point) ([69°01′45″N 113°37′00″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=69_01_45_N_113_37_00_W&title=Nuvuk%20Point)) is on the southwest side, jutting into [Simpson Bay](/source/Simpson_Bay_(Nunavut)) ([69°05′N 114°20′W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=69_05_N_114_20_W&title=Simpson%20Bay)).

## Geography

The low cliffs of Rymer Point are characterized by [carbonate rock](/source/Carbonate_rock).[1]

## History

Various [trading posts](/source/Trading_post) operated at Rymer Point, including one by the [Hudson's Bay Company](/source/Hudson's_Bay_Company), named Fort Harmon, and another by the [Christian Klengenberg](/source/Christian_Klengenberg) family.[2][3]
