'''Ryan Harding''' (born 27 April 1984 in [Edinburgh](/source/Edinburgh)) is a Scottish semi-professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays for [Civil Service Strollers](/source/Civil_Service_Strollers_F.C.)  as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)).

Over the course of his career he played for [Livingston](/source/Livingston_F.C.), [Greenock Morton](/source/Greenock_Morton_F.C.) and [East Stirlingshire](/source/East_Stirlingshire_F.C.) before leaving for [Malta](/source/Malta). On his return he played for [Alloa](/source/Alloa_Athletic_F.C.) and [Peterhead](/source/Peterhead_F.C.), before joining Civil Service Strollers in 2013.

==Playing career==
Harding began his senior career with [Scottish Premier League](/source/Scottish_Premier_League) club [Hibernian](/source/Hibernian_F.C.). From there he moved into another SPL side, [Livingston](/source/Livingston_F.C.). Ryan made just three league appearances and one other appearance in the [C.I.S. Insurance Cup](/source/Scottish_League_Cup) for Livingston. This appearance was against his future club [Greenock Morton](/source/Greenock_Morton_F.C.). During a match played in terrible weather conditions at [Almondvale Stadium](/source/Almondvale_Stadium), he scored a diving header in to his own net that was strangely ruled out for offside.

Ryan signed on at [Cappielow](/source/Cappielow) towards the end of the [2004–05 season](/source/2004%E2%80%9305_in_Scottish_football) on a short-term deal. He signed a longer deal at the start of the next season and continued to play for the club. He plays in the [centre back](/source/centre_back) position and formed partnership with fellow centre back [Stewart Greacen](/source/Stewart_Greacen), although was sidelined by the arrival of [Dominic Shimmin](/source/Dominic_Shimmin) for season [2007–08](/source/2007%E2%80%9308_in_Scottish_football). Harding suffered a serious injury in October 2008, and missed the rest of the season due to it. He was released in November 2009.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.gmfc.net/News/&action=fullnews&id=277|title=Alan Reid Signs|publisher=gmfc.net|date=27 November 2009|accessdate=27 November 2009|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20091130185930/http://www.gmfc.net/News/%26action%3Dfullnews%26id%3D277|archivedate=30 November 2009|df=dmy-all}}</ref>

Harding signed for [East Stirlingshire](/source/East_Stirlingshire_F.C.) on amateur forms on 3 December 2009<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.eaststirlingshirefc.co.uk/news_articles/041209harding.htm|title=HARDING SIGNS FOR SHIRE|publisher=eaststirlingshirefc.co.uk|accessdate=4 December 2009|url-status=usurped|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20100730230814/http://www.eaststirlingshirefc.co.uk/news_articles/041209harding.htm|archivedate=30 July 2010|df=dmy-all}}</ref> but was released at the end of the season.

Harding left Scotland to sign for [Maltese](/source/Malta) side [Birkirkara](/source/Birkirkara_F.C.) on 31 August 2010, making his début against [Sliema Wanderers](/source/Sliema_Wanderers_F.C.) on 13 September 2010,<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.birkirkarafc.com/player.php?id=2|title=Ryan Harding's profile|publisher=Birkirkara FC|accessdate=25 March 2011}}</ref> but retired through injury early in 2011.

Despite this, he returned to Scotland to sign for [Alloa Athletic](/source/Alloa_Athletic_F.C.) in June 2011.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/news/article/alloa-add-three-more/|title=Alloa add three more|publisher=[Scottish Football League](/source/Scottish_Football_League)|date=24 June 2011|accessdate=25 June 2011|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110628232456/http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/news/article/alloa-add-three-more|archivedate=28 June 2011|df=dmy-all}}</ref> In September 2012, Harding went on loan to [Peterhead](/source/Peterhead_F.C.) to cover their defensive injury crisis. It was the third time he had played under [Jim McIntyre](/source/Jim_McIntyre_(footballer)).<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/news/article/mcinally-signs-defender-for-third-time/|title=McInally signs defender for third time|publisher=Scottish Football League|date=20 September 2012|accessdate=20 September 2012|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20121101140730/http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/news/article/mcinally-signs-defender-for-third-time/|archivedate=1 November 2012|df=dmy-all}}</ref>

He left Alloa in 2013 and signed with [Civil Service Strollers](/source/Civil_Service_Strollers_F.C.).
