The success of this show led to some fame in New Zealand, where he is known as "the Bugman", notably on ''[Maggie's Garden Show](/source/Maggie's_Garden_Show)'' from 1992 till the end of the programme in December 2003.<ref name="TVNZ"/><ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.nzonscreen.com/title/maggies-garden-show-1991/series |title=Maggie's Garden Show |publisher=NZ On Screen |accessdate=5 January 2014}}</ref> He retired from MAF in the middle 1990s for a career as an ecological consultant.
