==Playing career==

Paddock played for the [Manitoba Bisons](/source/Manitoba_Bisons) for four seasons,<ref name="vbox">{{cite web |title=Russell Paddock |url=https://volleybox.net/russell-paddock-p33803/clubs |website=Volleybox |access-date=22 July 2025}}</ref> The Bisons were runners-up three of those years (1985-86, 1987-88, 1988-89) and 3rd place winners the other season (1986-87).<ref>{{cite web |title=U Sports - Men's Volleyball Championship Results |url=https://en.usports.ca/championships/2024-2025/2024-25_MVB/Documents/MVB_Championship_Results.pdf |website=U Sports |access-date=22 July 2025}}</ref>

Paddock played for the [Canada men's national volleyball team](/source/Canada_men's_national_volleyball_team) for several years, including at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, and the [1994 World Championships](/source/1994_FIVB_Men's_Volleyball_World_Championship_squads) in Greece.

He also played professionally in Belgium and Germany.<ref name=vbox />

==Coaching and administration career==
