Inglis made his debut for [Durham](/source/Durham_County_Cricket_Club) against the [Warwickshire Second XI](/source/Warwickshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the 1956 [Minor Counties Championship](/source/Minor_Counties_Championship). Inglis died from a heart attack on 28 April 1982.
