**Ruiterbos** ([Dutch](/source/Dutch_language): *Ruiterbosch*) is a village in the [Mossel Bay Local Municipality](/source/Mossel_Bay_Local_Municipality) in the [Western Cape](/source/Western_Cape) province of [South Africa](/source/South_Africa). As of 2011, the village had a population of 937 living in 310 households.[1] The village is situated at the foot of the Robinson Pass between [Mossel Bay](/source/Mossel_Bay) and [Oudtshoorn](/source/Oudtshoorn).[2] The settlement is about 22 km north of Mossel Bay, 12 km north of [Brandwag](/source/Brandwag%2C_Mossel_Bay) and 10 km west of [Friemersheim](/source/Friemersheim). The [R328](/source/R328_(South_Africa)) passes through the town. The village is home to the *Drie Magrietjies Padstal*. Next to the village is the Ruitersbos Nature Reserve.
