**Ruby Lilley** ([/ˈlɪli/](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/English) [*LIL-ee*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Pronunciation_respelling_key); born December 2, 2006)[1] is an American [skateboarder](/source/Skateboarder) and member of the [USA Skateboarding National Team](/source/USA_Skateboarding_National_Team). She represented the [United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics](/source/United_States_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics).

## Early life

Lilley was born on a farm in [Ocean City, Maryland](/source/Ocean_City%2C_Maryland), where her family raised Angora rabbits, sheep, chickens, goats, and ducks.[2] Growing up she was a ballet and ballroom dancer, before transitioning to skateboarding at ten years old.[3][4] In 2018, she moved to [Oceanside, California](/source/Oceanside%2C_California) to train skateboarding.[5]

## Career

Lilley made her [X Games](/source/X_Games) debut in 2022 at 15 years old where she finished in seventh place at both the spring and summer games.[6] She again competed at the 2023 X Games in Japan and won a silver medal in the park event.[7]

Lilley competed at the 2022 [World Skateboarding Championship](/source/World_Skateboarding_Championship) in [Sharjah](/source/Sharjah), which was postponed until February 2023, where she finished in 17th place. She then competed at the 2023 [World Skateboarding Championship](/source/World_Skateboarding_Championship) in [Rome](/source/Rome) in October 2023 where she finished in seventh place.[6]

Following the [2024 Olympic Qualifier Series](/source/2024_Olympic_Qualifier_Series#Skateboarding_Park), Lilley [qualified](/source/Skateboarding_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Qualification) for the [2024 Summer Olympics](/source/2024_Summer_Olympics).[8][9] She competed in the [women's park](/source/Skateboarding_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_park) event, where she scored 75.07 in the prelims, and failed to advance to the finals.[10]
