'''Rubinacci''' is an Italian luxury clothing company founded in [Naples](/source/Naples), [Italy](/source/Italy) in 1932 by Gennaro Rubinacci under the name of the ''London House''.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/rubinacci-london-house-new/|title=Rubinacci London House At New Address|first=Sven Raphael|last=Schneider|website=Gentleman's Gazette}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |title=Five Italian brands we rate - and why |url=https://www.thegentlemansjournal.com/article/four-italian-brands-rate-gentleman/ |access-date=2026-04-10 |website=www.thegentlemansjournal.com |language=en}}</ref> The idea Rubinacci had was to create unstructured, unlined jackets meant to be worn outside of the office. Among his early clients were filmmaker [Vittorio De Sica](/source/Vittorio_De_Sica) and journalist [Curzio Malaparte](/source/Curzio_Malaparte).<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2016-rubinacci-bespoke-suit/|title=Get Suited by the Best Bespoke Tailor on Earth|last=Coggins|first=David|date=2016-09-20|website=www.bloomberg.com|archive-url=|archive-date=|access-date=2020-03-31}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |date=2025-01-17 |title=Why a Storied Neapolitan Tailoring House Is Joining Milan Fashion Week |url=https://wwd.com/menswear-news/mens-designer-luxury/rubinacci-neapolitan-tailoring-house-makes-milan-fashion-week-debut-1236849501/ |access-date=2026-04-10 |website=WWD |language=en-US}}</ref>

==History==

[[Image:Luca-rubinacci.jpg |thumb|200px|right| Luca Rubinacci is in charge of the brand’s [ready-to-wear](/source/ready-to-wear) category]]

The history of Rubinacci began with art collector Gennaro Rubinacci's own tailoring emporium; he opened ''London House'', at 25 Via Gaetano Filangieri.<ref name="auto">{{Cite web|url=https://www.permanentstyle.com/2010/08/interview-mariano-rubinacci.html|title=Permanent Style}}</ref><ref>{{cite news |title=Suit jacket styles |url=https://www.suitsexpert.com/blog/mens-suit-styles/}}</ref> In 1961, Gennaro's son, Mariano, took control of the company. In 1963, he changed its name to ''Rubinacci'', maintaining the initials of the original name in the logo. Later, a branch was opened in [Milan](/source/Milan), in 1989, and in London in 2005.<ref name="auto"/>

As of 2018, Luca Rubinacci, Gennaro's grandson, is the [creative director](/source/creative_director) of Rubinacci, and responsible for launching the firm's ready-to-wear line.
