**Royalla** is a rural locality on the border of [New South Wales](/source/New_South_Wales) and the [Australian Capital Territory](/source/Australian_Capital_Territory) in [Australia](/source/Australia).[3][4] The area takes its name from the nearby Mount Rob Roy, and was originally a railway settlement on the [Bombala railway line](/source/Bombala_railway_line) known as Rob Roy and changed to the current name in 1905. Modern Royalla is a large rural locality east of the [Monaro Highway](/source/Monaro_Highway). The border with the ACT follows the western boundary of the easement of the former railway line to the east of the highway. The town was served by a railway station until 1975. The NSW part of Royalla had a population of 984 at the [2016 census](/source/2016_Australian_census).[5]

The event was attended by [Simon Corbell](/source/Simon_Corbell), the ACT's Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development, and [Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo](/source/Jos%C3%A9_Garc%C3%ADa-Margallo_y_Marfil), Spain's [Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation](/source/Ministry_of_Foreign_Affairs_and_Cooperation_(Spain)). The plant features 83,000 solar arrays, and is rated at 20[MWp](/source/MWp#Measurement_of_nominal_power_and_efficiency_of_photovoltaic_modules). It has the capacity to power more than 4,500 ACT homes.[8] The farm was developed by the [Spanish](/source/Spain) company [Fotowatio Renewable Ventures](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fotowatio_Renewable_Ventures&action=edit&redlink=1) (FRV).[6]
