The **Royal National Anthem**[1] is the [national anthem](/source/National_anthem) of the [Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan](/source/Hashemite_Kingdom_of_Jordan),[a] adopted in 1946. The lyrics were penned by [ʿAbdul Munʿim Rifāʿī](/source/Abdelmunim_Rifai), and the melody was composed by ʿAbdul Qādir Tanīr.[2]

## History

The first version of the lyrics was very short, as it only contained the first [stanza](/source/Stanza) of the current version.[3][4] Since then, the anthem has been expanded. The abridged version of the anthem is usually used, while the full version is reserved for special occasions.[5] The composition is in [F major](/source/F_major) on the musical scale.
